BOOK TRADE ACROSS BOUNDARIES (2004)
The
making of a book is an all encompassing activities and
same goes for global trade. The NBFT decision in 2004 to
bring stakeholders in the publishing sector together not
leaving out the World Bank to discuss how to take the
business from the street corner to the centre of the world
is indeed a worthy exercise
The World Bank Publisher Mr Dirk
Koehler took a cursory look at the nature of markets for
books and significance of global trade, while Mrs
Catherine Tugaineyo, Secretary General PAN-AFRICAN
BOOKSELLERS ASSOCIATION (PABA) looked at the theme from
the booksellers’ perspective. Other contributors were from
International Publishers Association (IPA) and KOPINOR as
well as professionals in the sector. The Book is
‘un-put-down-able”.
